When is marlin season in Puerto Vallarta?
August 30, 2026
Autumn. That's the whole answer, but the details matter if you're planning around it.
Black marlin run three straight months at the top of the scale — September and October are the heart of it, at Corbeteña and El Banco. This is the twelve-hour-day fish, the reason people book the longest charter and fly in specifically for it.
Blue marlin peak a few weeks later than the blacks and hold into December. Slightly longer season, same grounds, same long day.
Striped marlin are the quiet third — present through autumn, never the headline. A cool-water fish on a coast that runs warm; nice when one shows up, not the reason to book.
All three want the banks, which means 10–12 hours. Don't try to squeeze Corbeteña into eight — the day becomes mostly steaming. And autumn books up: if marlin is the trip, talk to us early.
